AP8510 LOGIC AND CRITICAL THINKING I
An introductory study of the methods and principles of sound reasoning. The course will discuss the nature of arguments and how to evaluate them, and covering such topics as deduction and induction, fallacies, and procedures for testing validity and soundness. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8511 LOGIC AND CRITICAL THINKING II
An advanced study of the methods and principles of sound reasoning. The course will discuss natural deduction, quantification theory, probability and modal logic. PREREQUISITE: AP8510. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8521 INTRODUCTION TO APOLOGETICS
A study of the defense of the Christian faith. Topics discussed will include apologetic methodology, arguments for God’s existence, miracles, evidence for the deity and resurrection of Jesus, and responses to several major objections to the Christian faith. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A., M.DIV., M.A.B.C., M.A.M., M.A.B.S., C.A., C.MIS. - Two Credit Hours

AP8525 APOLOGETICS AND THE BIBLE
A study and defense of the historical reliability, inerrancy, and divine authority of the Bible. The course will focus on giving responses to major objections to the reliability and authority of the Bible, including the challenge of contemporary historical Jesus research. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8531 WORLD RELIGIONS
A study and evaluation of the major world religions, including Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Roman Catholicism. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A., C.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8532 CONTEMPORARY CULTS
A study and evaluation of the major cults, including, Latter Day Saints, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the New Age Movement, Mind Science groups, and the Word-Faith Movement. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A., C.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8611 ADVANCED APOLOGETICS I
An in-depth study of the positive case for the Christian faith. The course will include discussions of faith and reason, arguments for God’s existence, miracles, and evidence for the resurrection and deity of Christ. PREREQUISITE: AP8521. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A., C.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8612 ADVANCED APOLOGETICS II
An in-depth study and response to the major intellectual challenges to the Christian faith. The course will include discussions of post-modern relativism, the problem of evil, religious pluralism, and objections to the historical reliability of the Bible. PREREQUISITE: AP8521 AND 8611. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A., C.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8645 GOD, ETHICS AND SOCIETY
An advanced study of ethical theory and its application to major ethical issues in contemporary society. Topics to be discussed will include the relationship between God and ethics, various approaches to metaethics and normative ethics, Christian social theory, and evaluations of important ethical issues from a Christian perspective. PREREQUISITES: ST3655. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A., C.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8661 CHRISTIANITY AND CONTEMPORARY CULTURE
A study of that looks at the Christian’s relationship to various spheres of culture such as art, politics, education, etc. and seeks to develop a biblical model of cultural involvement so that the Christian can be “in the world, but not of it.” . REQUIRED FOR M.A.A., C.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8725 APOLOGETIC METHODOLOGY
A study and evaluation of the various approaches to the apologetic task. Topics discussed will include religious epistemology, faith and reason, and the relationship between theology and apologetics. PREREQUISITE: AP8521. REQUIRED FOR M.A.A. - Two Credit Hours

AP8553 CHRISTIANITY AND COMPETING WORLDVIEWS
A comparison and critique of the major non-Christian worldviews, including Deism, Naturalism, Pantheism, Process Theology, and Polytheism. Attention will be given to apologetic strategy for engaging adherents of these worldviews. - Two Credit Hours

AP8623 APOLOGETICS IN THE CHURCH
A discussion of the importance of integrating apologetics into the life and ministry of the church, and practical ways of achieving such integration. The student will develop a plan for apologetics ministry in his own local church. - Two Credit Hours

AP8625 APOLOGETICS AND PERSONAL EVANGELISM
A study of the relationship between apologetics and personal evangelism. The course will include discussion of practical ways to integrate apologetics into evangelistic opportunities. PREREQUISITE: 5667 - Two Credit Hours

AP8630 APOLOGETICS FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
A study of contemporary youth culture and practical ways of reaching them evangelistically and apologetically with the truth-claims of Christianity. The course will also include discussions of the theology of worship, and ethical issues relevant to youth. - Two Credit Hours

AP8657 CHRISTIANITY AND THE PUBLIC SQUARE
A study of the relationship between church and state, and an exploration of the proper model for Christian involvement in the political arena. Attention will be given to the evaluation of key social and political issues from a Christian perspective. - Two Credit Hours

AP8675 APOLOGETIC DEBATE
A practical study of the principles and techniques of debating focusing on issues in Christian apologetics. Students will get practical experience in preparing for and engaging in public debates. PREREQUISITES: 8510, 8521 - Two Credit Hours

AP8711 CHRISTIANITY AND SCIENCE
A study of the relationship between the Christian worldview and contemporary science. Special emphasis will be placed on constructing a sound model for relating science and theology, and on the creation-evolution debate. PREREQUISITES: 8511. Two Credit Hours

AP8730 PHILOSOPHICAL THEOLOGY
A philosophical study of the attributes of God and key Christian doctrines such as the trinity, incarnation, atonement, and original sin. The focus of the course will be on the logical consistency and rational plausibility of these doctrines. PREREQUISITES: 8510, 8521 - Two Credit Hours

AP8791 SPECIAL TOPICS IN APOLOGETICS
A concentrated study of a selected topic or person related to Christian apologetics. Prerequisites may apply. - Two Credit Hours
