Birmingham Theological Seminary
From the President

Thank you for your interest in Birmingham Theological Seminary!

Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ. We are excited that the Lord has prompted you to consider Birmingham Theological Seminary and look forward to a growing relationship together. I encourage you to take the time to read our catalog and particularly the information on the history and educational distinctives of BTS. It is these distinctives, as fleshed out in our curriculum and the classroom, which guide our approach to seminary education and which make BTS a truly unique institution.

In attending BTS, you will quickly discover that our professors are not only excellent teachers, but also bring years of practical ministry experience into the classroom. Instructors will be an encouragement to you and a great resource for you during your time at BTS and for many years after you graduate, should God lead you to BTS.

We are confident you will be challenged academically in your courses and will also gain practical knowledge for life and ministry. As you dig deeper into the truths of Scripture, diligently and deliberately apply what you learn. Remember, “Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.” (James 2:23-25).

Our staff at BTS is ready to serve you and answer any questions. We pray that your time at BTS will better equip you to reproduce the next generation to fulfill the Great Commission in Alabama, North America and around the world.

May the Lord use you greatly to advance the Kingdom!

In the Service of the King,

Glenn G. Waddell
President
