HT4520 HISTORY OF THE CHURCH IN MISSION
An historical study of the spread of the Gospel through time and through various cultures, from the early church to the present. REQUIRED FOR M.A.MIS. – Two Credit Hours

HT4528 EARLY & MEDIEVAL CHURCH HISTORY
Beginnings and progress of the church, the Roman Empire, the church in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Doctrinal controversies during this period. REQUIRED FOR M.DIV. - Two Credit Hours

HT4529 CULTURAL HISTORY OF THE CHURCH IN AMERICA
Students will become acquainted with some of the increasing challenges of effective ministry in the most diverse country in the world, i.e. the United States of America. The history, culture, contributions, religion and family life of major minority groups will be surveyed. Students will be exposed to both negative and positive use of Scripture both in the past and present in addressing cultural change in society. The student will become acquainted with various views the church has held concerning culture, the origin of the races, racism, segregation, interracial marriage, and the consequences of such views in a multicultural pluralistic society. The student will learn how to relate to different ethnic/cultural groups with integrity, compassion, and humility while promoting a Biblical diversity with Biblical truth and morality as anchors. This will be accomplished both by classroom learning, research, learning activities and practical experiences with a diverse ethnic/cultural group. Causes and events leading up the Reformation with focus on its leaders and effects. Also covered are the Counter-Reformation, the Evangelical Revival and growth of the Protestant Church to the present. REQUIRED FOR M.DIV., M.A.B.S., M.A.M. - Two Credit Hours

HT4765 GIANTS OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH
A study of Paul, Augustine, Aquinas, Luther, Calvin and Jonathan Edwards. - One Credit Hour

HT4770 THEOLOGY OF LAW & GOVERNMENT
This course is designed to give students a basic understanding of the way one’s theology influences and shapes one’s view of law and government. The course will survey the various influences upon American law and government, with special emphasis upon the legal system of the ancient Hebrews as revealed in the Bible and other documents, upon the development of English common law and the influence of Hebrew law and English common law upon the American legal and political system. - Two Credit Hours
