OT1511 BEGINNING HEBREW I
A study of the fundamentals of the Hebrew language with particular emphasis on its use in the original writing of the Old Testament. REQUIRED FOR M.DIV., M.A.M.PL. - Two Credit Hours

OT1512 BEGINNING HEBREW II
Further study in the above along with reading some simple narrative portions of Genesis. PREREQUISITE: OT1511 REQUIRED FOR M.DIV. - Two Credit Hours

OT1526 OLD TESTAMENT HISTORY & THEOLOGY
A study of the formation of the canon, of textual criticism, of Israelite history, and an evaluation of critical scholarship. The Christ-centered interpretation of the Old Testament taking into consideration the organic, progressive structure of biblical theology. REQUIRED FOR M.DIV. - Two Credit Hours

OT1623 ADVANCED HEBREW I
Extensive course in reading, with review of grammar and attention to greater accuracy in exegesis of the Old Testament. PREREQUISITE: OT1511, OT1512 REQUIRED FOR M.DIV. - Two Credit Hours

The book of Joshua provides a framework for thinking through the Christian life and the book of Judges reflects the chaos of life when “every man does that which is right in his own eyes.” This course considers these classical themes while appreciating the historical significance of these books. - Two Credit Hours

OT1525 OLD TESTAMENT HISTORY OF THE ANCIENT MIDDLE EAST
A study of the background of the Old Testament, taking into account the history, geography, linguistics, archaeology, and culture of Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Anatolia. - Two Credit Hours

OT1618 SERMONS ON JOB
Investigating the theme of personal suffering through a study of Job. - One Credit Hour

OT1624 ADVANCED HEBREW II
Further study in advanced Hebrew. Prerequisite: OT1511, OT1512, OT1623 - Two Credit Hours

OT1636 MICAH: HISTORY AND PROPHECY IN THE 8TH CENTURY B.C.
A study of the book of Micah with attention given to the history of the period of classical prophecy, including comparative studies in Isaiah, Amos, Hosea. - Two Credit Hours

OT1723 BOOK OF PSALMS
An in-depth study of Psalms according to form, content, setting and the sermonic treatment. - One Credit Hour

OT1724 POETICAL BOOKS OF THE OLD TESTAMENT
An introduction to Hebrew poetry and a survey of teaching of the poetical books. - Two Credit Hours

OT1725 WISDOM LITERATURE
An introduction to the wisdom books of the Old Testament with special studies in each one. - Two Credit Hours

OT1762 OLD TESTAMENT CHARACTER STUDIES
The lives of major Old Testament characters will be examined in terms of their worship, spiritual development and interpersonal and family relationships. Practical lessons will be developed with application to contemporary living. Students will be expected to prepare two sermons or Bible studies to preach or present with selected participant responses elicited. - Two Credit Hours
